As the name implies, you can combine all those little reward cards that hang from your key ring into a user-friendly app on your phone. You no longer have to stand around smoothing out bends in the little plastic cards while jingling your keys, then handing them over to the cashier – or even worse, finding that the card has fallen off and is nowhere to be found, leaving you at the mercy of begging the impatient guy behind you to use his.

Once that was over I remembered seeing that a good old Android app, Astrid Task, just recently became available for iOS as well. Equipped with that little piece of information, I headed out into the wild and dangerous world of application reviews.

Astrid Task is one of my all-time favorites in terms of task management and productivity applications for Android or iOS. The sheer amount of features this comes with is incredible and you can go through tasks with great ease, not to mention that you can share tasks and set up tons of other goodies.

You can use Astrid Task to organize reminders, subtasks, lists and many more. You can also synchronize your tasks for your handset, tablet or even online via Astrid.com. The application also supports sharing of tasks with friends or family. This is where I remembered the application as I described it a little earlier.

When preparing for the trip I realized that there was plenty of stuff to get done. I had to go and pick up a couple of iPhone faceplates (my brilliantly original birthday gift) and get beverages for everyone. I did not know what everyone else was doing so I started asking around.

With Astrid Task you can organize such elements with great ease. One of your friends will get the drinks, one will get the main course, one will get desert for everyone and the limitations to this are only the amount of tasks you want to do.

The reminders and the subtasks allow you to customize this to your needs within just a few moves. The greatest part is that the entire interface is easy to use and clean. There is no need for you to browse through tons of menus and submenus to find what you need. This offers you an immense control over you activities and whether you look for some iPhone cell phone accessories or think of that perfect birthday gift (iPhone faceplates – I already was in the store), Astrid Task will help you.

Astrid Task is one of my favorite productivity applications for Android and iOS, but the “Free” price tag should make it even more attractive. The application does come with a couple of add-ons that will ask for a little bit of cash, but these are not necessary to get all that functionality out of your device.

You can get the Power Pack that allows you to add tasks via voice commands, adjust widget sizes and the Locale Add-on. The second one activates reminders when you walk past any of your points of interest marked in your task lists. So if you want to boost your productivity on either iOS or Android, Astrid Task is the way to go!
